Your Medicine Chest Could be Hazardous to Your Health
Hundreds of drugs a year are pre-approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before all the side effects are actually known. Some of the side effects are discovered and the drug still makes it to market because these dangerous side effects do not occur too often. These drugs are withdrawn from the market only after their dangerous side effects become a financial or public relations nightmare to the drug manufacturers and the FDA. FDA approval does not mean a drug is safe! Here is just a small list of dangerous side effects:
- Stroke
- Heart attack
- Birth Defects
- Kidney failure
- Steven Johnson Syndrome (a rare skin disorder)
- Psychological problems
- Death
